Prior to 2020, I had big plans to travel and explore the world. Unfortunately, the pandemic prohibited me and a ton of others from doing so. Forced to stay inside, tequila and I got real close. Did anyone else spend their newfound free time on quarantine zoom parties, graduations, and brunches? One day, I noticed that my liver line (between eyebrows) on my face was dry, slightly wrinkled, and every so often I would get pimples in this area. As much as I tried to ignore the signs, I was abusing my liver.
Today, the alcohol isn't worth it anymore, I truly aspire to be the healthiest I can be so giving it up *this time* hasn't been horrible. I love everything about cleansing and cleaning out my system, and aiding my body in its regeneration process is my love language. I've dedicated a whole month to liver cleansing, and have to share my experiences with you all!
As you may know, our liver has a ton of functions, but we mostly associate it with being a primary detox organ. It removes the junk in your blood, excretes waste and toxins from your body, and breaks down fats to release energy. Your eyes, brain, heart, and kidneys depend on your liver function. Without the liver, it's impossible to have a properly working metabolism, healthy blood circulation, balanced hormones, and strong digestion.
Signs of an overloaded liver include:
Bloating After Eating
Weakened Immune Function
Crave Sweet, Starchy, or Salty Foods
Struggle with Weight Loss
Dark Circles Under Eyes
Even if you don't binge drink (Serious kudos to you), we are exposed to so many toxins daily via diet and environment. Toxic overload can seriously impact our health and overall wellness. There's a ton of "detoxes" that promise to flush out the toxins, but are they safe and effective? Are they suitable for long-term use and would you want your kids to use them?
