Supplement Up: Chlorophyll

Chlorophyll, the green plant pigment that is formally known as Green Gold or Plant Blood. Chlorophyll contains a great source of vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals (various active compounds in plants that play a role in plant growth or defense against pathogens or predators).


The benefits that Chlorophyll has are endless. Chlorophyll has been used in folk medicine for YEARS as a deodorizer for bad breath, urine, fecal waste, and body odor and it can reduce the risk of cancer. It is also used for treating diabetes, constipation, and hemorrhoids. Chlorophyll is used as a neutralizer which makes a great supplement for smokers.


It also helps skin health, it can be applied topically to increasing the glow and lighten up acne scars. Chlorophyll also increases the rate of bacteria absorption and the efficiency of white blood cells (defends the body against infection and disease). Chlorophyll reduces inflammation also has the potential to stimulate red blood cells, improving oxygen supply. It can be used to treat infected wounds naturally and helps protect the body against toxins.


Chlorophyll is found in green leafy plants and also comes in powder, tablets, and liquid form. Heads up- Drinking chlorophyll in liquid form does cause your poop to turn green! Some say drinking one ounce of chlorophyll is equal to eating 2.5lbs of green leafy veggies!


I consume Chlorophyll first thing in the morning in replacement of my morning cup of joe! I add in drops throughout the day as well, especially before a workout. The brand I recommend is Chloroxygen Which can be found at sprouts for half of the amazon price!
